Mamma Mia was excellent

Viewers familiar with the movie version will notice several, often major, differences in the play, but this does not detract from the performance. You just have to understand that stage restrictions and time constraints required adjustments in the script. It was still well done and hit the important moments very well. What they were able to do with only two major set pieces was also amazing, adjusting them for each scene. There were some acts of a bawdy nature that, while we found fine, later may have required some explanation to the young children who also attended. But that was only a tiny piece of the production and did not detract from the overall impression we had of the play. The music was great, and we liked the actors' singing voices.
